Rowathon set for Ladies’ Day

St Joseph’s College, The Bish, is holding its successful Rowathon next Thursday (Ladies’ Day at the Galway Races ).

The event, where anyone can pit themselves against an opponent on a rowing machine, will take place on Shop Street/William Street.

Last year’s inaugural event raised more than €6,000 which allowed the school to send its rowers to various events, including the British National Championships. This year the Bish is hoping to return to the event and to compete at many Head of the River and regatta events in Ireland.

Once again each participant will race against an opponent on a rowing machine in a fun environment, taking about 15 minutes.

The Bish hopes to start the action at 10am, running until 7pm.
