Moores Butchers, situated in Terryland Shopping Centre, offers a wide variety of locally grown products including dairy and gluten free options at affordable prices.

The owners of Moores are husband and wife team, Liam and Lorraine Moore. Liam has been butchering for 24 years and is aided by fellow veteran butcher, Iain Kinehan who has been in the trade for 37 years. Having previously managed many successful butchers, this is the first shop Liam has opened under his name, but with the wealth of experience in Liam, Lorraine and Iain and the high quality produce offered, the future is bright for Moores.

As experts in butchering, the duo ensure fresh and favourable options for all customers, regardless of dietary requirements.

"As a coeliac myself, I make sure that around 90% of our products are gluten free. We also have dairy free options and try to cater for all," said Liam. With 1 in every 100 people in Ireland diagnosed with Ceoliac disease, those who experience gluten intolerance can often be overlooked, but at Moore's there's a plethora of high quality products to choose from.

The shop opened in the beginning of August this year, but has quickly figured out how to appeal to customers of all budgets and lifestyles and has a variety of options to suit anyone looking to up their protein intake.

With students specials like a choice of 4 items for €15, the generous options to choose from; 3 marinated pork chops, a tray of garlic potatoes, 3 steak burgers, 3 chicken legs, a tray of gratin potatoes and 2 chicken fillets. For non students, there are still brilliant deals to choose from, with a 5 for €25 deal where you can choose from; 5 chicken skewers, 4 steak burgers, 2 chicken kievs, 500g of diced beef, 4 pork chops and 450g of chicken stir fry.

In Moores, there is a strong emphasis on locally grown produce which is of local origin and that supports local suppliers. "I want our customers to support me and to support local, so it's very important to me that I have locally grown meat. Our chicken fillets are 100% Irish."

The dry aged beef sold in Moores, is of local origin and is aged for a minimum of 28 days, resulting in beef which is tender, full of flavour and a welcome addition to any dinner plate. The pork chops on the bone and pork belly all with the rind on, are some of Moores best sellers and are popular with current customers.

There are also a variety of marinades and rubs available, including a plethora of gluten free options, and tray packs are made fresh everyday, with easy to grab and cook options like honey and mustard bacon chops, homemade chicken marylands and gluten free chicken Cordon bleu with carbonara sauce - just to name a few.

Open 7 days a week, make sure to visit Moores while doing the weekly shop and experience all of the above in person.
