Connolly demands public be involved in the upcoming review of city bus routes

The public must be involved in the upcoming review of the city’s bus routes, as any review without the input of the people who use public transport would be flawed and unrepresentative.

Galway City West Fianna Fáil candidate John Connolly has called on the National Transport Authority to involve the public in the upcoming review, and expressed surprise that such a review would occur “without seeking the input of those who use the service” as well as “those who might be convinced to use public transport as opposed to their car”.

Mr Connolly noted that Bus Éireann revenues on Galway city services increased by more than 30 per cent between 2013 and 2017, and as such, “customers have earned the right to have their say on how the services could be improved or where potential might exist for increased services or prospective enhanced routes.”
