Mayo farm payments welcomed

The latest payments of €3.5 million made to beef and sheep farmers in Mayo last week under the Beef Genomics Scheme and Grassland Sheep Scheme brings the level of payments in the county in 2014 to almost €87 million.

That figure includes Single Farm Payments, the Agri-Environment Options Scheme I and II (AEOS), the Rural Environment Protection Scheme (REPS), and the Disadvantaged Area Scheme (DAS).

Christmas food appeal success
