Deputy Ring urges that Mayo roads need to be brought up to standard

Local authority bosses have been asked to bring road networks in Mayo up to standard after the harsh winter which has left them in a “terrible state”. The call has come from the Fine Gael spokesperson on community, equality, and Gaeltacht affairs, Deputy Michael Ring, who said motorists were having their vehicles destroyed because of the potholed condition of most routes in Mayo.

It was announced this week that two counselling services in Mayo will receive €210,000 between them from the Government. The Knock Counselling Service will get €120,000 and Family Life Services will receive €90,000 as part of an overall €8 million national grant allocated by Minister for Social and Family Affairs Éamon Ó Cuív.
