Ballyhaunis man hits a winning streak

A 36-year-old Ballyhaunis man went home from the Winning Streak TV show €23,000 the richer for his efforts last Saturday night.

East Mayo man Amar Morris, who works as an electrician lives in Ballyhaunis where he was born and reared, was a contestant on the first Winning Streak show of the new year after his lucky ticket which was purchased in Caulfields, Upper Main Street, Ballyhaunis, was drawn out of the hat the previous week.

Mr Morris, who said on the show that he likes to spend his free time swimming and walking his Alaskan malamute dog Ruben, was supported in the audience by his mother Teresa, girlfriend Lorraine, close friends and neighbours. He also said that he would like to spend some of his winnings on a trip to Disneyland in Florida with his girlfriend.
