High style stakes expected for Fashion Day in Ballinrobe

Ballinrobe Racecourse has just announced an exciting new event for fashion and millinery devotees.

The first Fashion Day and Best Hat competition at the racecourse is on the cards for Monday July 20 and organisers are expecting the style stakes to be high on day.

The event is being organised in conjunction with milliner Caitriona King and Catwalk Model Agency Galway.

The Fashion Day will feature a number of live fashion events staged throughout the evening, showcasing the best of the west's boutiques.

The event takes place just one week prior the world famous Galway Races festival so fashion followers will have a great  opportunity to gain some ideas and get ahead of the competition in Galway.

The Best Hat competition, sponsored by award-winning milliner Caitriona King, will see some lucky lady walk away with a Caitriona King designed hat to the value of €300.

The competition will be judged by fashion journalist and blogger Grainne McMahon.

Monday and Tuesday, July 20 and 21, at Ballinrobe Racecourse will see two action packed days with some great racing.

Monday evening is being sponsored by TOTE with the feature race of the evening being the TOTE Handicap to the value of €20,000.  Tuesday evening’s National Hunt card features the McGrath Limestone Works Ltd, Cong, Handicap Hurdle with a prize fund of €20,000
