A new enterprise centre for Westport has been secured and should be operational at the beginning of 2014.
Town manager Martin Keating told Westport town councillors that the town’s multi agency group have been offered an Enterprise Ireland grant for the acquisition of a new enterprise centre for Westport. The purchase of a 5,000 square feet unit at Westpoint has been agreed. The two storey unit, which has a large plaza area, will need a complete fit out and the architects’ department is working on that at the moment. Mr Keating said it is hoped that the unit is ready to be occupied by the first quarter of next year and there has already been interest expressed by micro businesses.
