Meetwest 2013 launched

The official launch of Meetwest 2013 took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Regional Training Centre of Mayo County Council offices Castlebar. The two day business networking forum takes place on November 21 and 22 at Knockranny House Hotel.

The event is being organised by the Mayo Enterprise and Investment unit in conjunction with Mayo County Council, Galway City and County Councils, Roscommon County Council, Roscommon and Galway County and City Enterprise Boards.

The launch was formally introduced by Mayo County Manager, Peter Hynes: “Meetwest 2013 will bring together companies from Mayo, Galway, Roscommon and from further afield, giving individuals and companies an opportunity to network, establish relationships and ultimately grow their business. I would invite companies in the region to seize the opportunity to attend.”

Day one of the event will have a conference element, the theme of which Growing World Class Business from the West of Ireland will be chaired by RTE presenter and former news reader Ann Doyle. Speakers at the MeetWest conference include: Tommy Griffith, CEO, PEL Waste Reduction Equipment; Aiden Corcoran, CEO, Horizon; Martin O’Hara, Director, O Hara’s of Foxford Ltd; Pat O’Donnell, vice president and managing director, Allergan Ireland. The day will come to a close with an informal networking dinner addressed by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny.

Day two will feature a serious of pre-arranged one-to-one business network meetings. Participating delegates have the opportunity to request who they want to do business with on the day by submitting their company details when they register at www.meetwest.ie prior to the event.

This year’s event also sees some new initiatives including group meetings for small to medium enterprises with larger organisations and a limited number of pop-up exhibition spaces for early registrations.
