Nurse-led continence clinics in Mayo

The HSE’s Public Health Nursing Service in Mayo has announced the development of a nurse-led continence care clinic for men, the first of its kind for men in the west of Ireland.

The nurse-led continence care clinics will provide assessment, diagnosis, management, education, and support to improve urinary and faecal incontinence for men of all ages. It will also provide education and support to carers, relatives, and professional healthcare workers.

The clinics will be managed by Patricia Dever, public health nurse and continence advisor for Mayo, whose team will offer an accessible quality service.

The clinic will be located in the grounds of the Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar. The clinic is available through an appointment system.
