Business owner Malcolm Cooney has been operating the Mayo branch of The Ultimate Floor Sanding Company for many years. Hundreds of happy customers with beautifully renovated wooden floors can be found across the county as a result.

Mr Cooney explained: “This is just a natural extension of my business. The plan is to provide my customers with a one stop shop for professional floor care. If you think about it, it makes a great deal of sense – if I am renovating a wooden floor, back to its original condition, it is a great service to be able to say, clean the bedroom carpets. Providing multiple specialist floor care services also can be more economical for the client – as I can do several jobs while on site with no extra fuel costs or travelling time.”
A one stop shop makes sense, but how does a floor sanding expert become a carpet cleaning expert? Mr Cooney has been undertaking training with manufacturers both here and in the UK for months and as a result is the only approved and authorised Texatherm operator in County Mayo.
