Eleven people found in Cong hotel’s bar after hours

The licensee of Danagher’s Hotel, Abbey Street, Cong appeared at Ballinrobe District Court after a number of patrons were found in the bar of her premises after closing time.

Gardaí inspected the premises of Helena Byrne on April 20 at 2.35am where 11 people were found in the bar. Only one of the 11 was a resident.

The defendant, who has been a licensee for almost 20 years, has no other breaches and was convicted and fined €500 by Judge Mary Devins.
