Defects on car land Ballyhaunis man in court

A Ballyhaunis man who had a number of road traffic defects with his car was convicted and fined at Ballyhaunis District Court this week.

On Wednesday December 2 2009 at 9.15pm, Josh Sloan, Larganboy, Ballyhaunis was stopped by Garda Shane Cuffe on the Knock Road as the defendant’s car had no rear tail light; had no rear view wing mirror; the registration mark tail light was not lit; and the registration plates were not conforming.

Garda Cuffe had stopped Sloan on three occasions previously to warn him of these defects. The car had an NCT certificate.

The panel beater, who has one previous conviction, was convicted and fined a total of €450 by Judge Mary Devins.
