The Department of Transport has issued a new route licence to the Castlebar based firm Cabs and Coaches. The new licence enables the company to operate a bus service from Castlebar to Westport every hour departing from the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, at 8pm on Saturdays and departing every hour until midnight.
The return buses will depart Westport from 1am onwards.
Cabs and Coaches has been operating for the past year and has had a major impact on the taxi business in Castlebar, mainly due to its discount taxi fares.
Fares are €10 return and people with travel passes are also accommodated on the service.
