Major investment for Rossport College

A €339,000 extension to Coláiste Chomain, Rossport, has been announced today by Beverley Flynn TD. Deputy Flynn has received confirmation from the Minister for Education and Science, Batt O'Keeffe, that the Rossport College has been approved for the grant with immediate effect.

Beverley said that the grant will go to a major extension at the school and will have special emphasis on providing PLC places at Rossport. "I warmly welcome this allocation to Coláiste Chomain which provides such an excellent service to the local community and which will now be enabled to introduce an enhanced range of PLC courses,” she said.

“It is timely that Coláiste Chomain, which this year celebrates 50 years of service to the community, should be acknowledged for its educational importance with the award of this significant grant aid to further development,” said Deputy Flynn. Deputy Flynn said she was conscious of the important part played by Mayo VEC and its chief executive officer Dr Katie Sweeney, in progressing the case for Rossport School.
