Pembroke Communications opens office in the west

Pembroke Communications, one of Ireland’s leading PR firms, has formed a strategic partnership with Slí Nua Communications, run by former Irish Independent journalist Liam Horan.

Pembroke is now the only PR firm in Ireland to have an office in Cork and now in the west of Ireland. This reflects client requirements for both local and national account management and support and expertise.

Slí Nua and Pembroke will jointly provide media training, crisis management, media relations and event management services to new and existing clients in the midlands and west of Ireland.

Slí Nua’s existing clients include www.forgottengold.com, Saint Joseph’s Young Priests, the National Grandparents Pilgrimage and the Irish Kidney Association. Pembroke Communications already looks after the needs of several clients west of the Shannon including Connacht Gold and Arrabawn Co-op.

Liam Horan, founder of Slí Nua Communications, publishes Run Direct magazine and is a partner in Weekly Columns. His previous experience includes Gaelic Games correspondent, Irish Independent; Sports Editor, the Evening Echo; founding editor of the Athlone Voice; and Chief Executive Officer of Lake District Enterprise Ltd. He is also the contributor of a humourous GAA column to RTE’s Drivetime sports.

Michael O’Keeffe, deputy managing director of Pembroke Communications, said: “We are delighted to have joined forces with Slí Nua and to have someone of the calibre of Liam Horan on board. Liam brings huge experience which will be of enormous benefit to our existing clients and we can provide support for his growing business.

“This is another big step for Pembroke Communications and we are now the only company in Ireland to have offices in Dublin, Cork and now west of the Shannon and this clearly differentiates us from our competitors.”

Liam Horan said: “The tie-up with Pembroke Communications allows me to expand my existing business quite significantly. It will also mean an improved service to my clients, and allow us to generate new business in the region. Pembroke Communications are an extremely professional organisation who are keen to do the best they can for their clients. That’s what attracted me most of all.”
