September date for National Grandparents’ Pilgrimage

Grandparents take note, the second ever National Grandparents’ Pilgrimage has been scheduled for Knock Shrine on Sunday September 14.

The theme of the pilgrimage is “all you need is prayer” and over 6,000 people of all ages including grandparents, children and grandchildren are expected to attend.

Guest singer for the event is Liam Lawton while guest speaker is David Quinn from Iona Institute. The chief celebrant will be Bishop John Fleming, Bishop of Killala.

The National Grandparents’ Pilgrimage was established in 2007, and proved a huge success as grandparents from all over Ireland travelled to celebrate their role in transmitting the faith.
