Fundraising Summer Cabaret Show for Western Care in Claremorris

The highly successful Summertime Cabaret Show will return to the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, for one night only, on Wednesday, August 7 next. This year’s once-off show is a charity event being organised in conjunction with Western Care Association and Cáirde Crann Mór, Ballinrobe.

The summer cabaret show will be produced and hosted by Annette Griffin and John Staunton. Annette is resident harpist/singer at Ashford Castle and has travelled the world over with her voice and singing.

John was guitarist/singer with Daniel O' Donnell and has travelled extensively with his music and singing. Joining Annette and John this year are Brendan Shine, accompanied by his daughter Emily, with his unique style of singing and accordion playing.

Also appearing in the show will be Ballina based Gerry Guthrie, a country singer who is going from success to success at the moment with his band consistently playing the top dance venues in Ireland, England and Scotland and renowned fiddle player Billy Condon, who is a member of Gerry’s band and has played with Daniel O'Donnell and Jimmy Buckley’s band and spent 12 years with the Hillbillies.

Also appearing will be the Turley/Duggan Academy of Irish Dance, from Claremorris, with a Riverdance themed show, and the excellent McWilliam House Band will be providing support to all the artists. A new addition to this year’s programme will be Dublin based comedian, Shaun Connors; Shaun is a leading Irish and International comedian who has entertained audiences across the globe. The entertainment will continue with Jason Myles in Kavanaghs Bar for the after-show dance.

All proceeds from this once-off summer cabaret will go to support Western Care Association’s local services for people with intellectual disabilities and their families in the south Mayo area.
