Courtyard choral performance at the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life

The Courtyard Gallery at the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life, Turlough Park, will provide the setting for a unique choral performance at 2.30pm on Friday, May 24.

A women’s chamber choir from Indiana, USA, will perform at the museum as part of the Mayo International Choral Festival. The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Madrigals have a diverse, a cappella repertoire and have toured throughout the United States and in Canada, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, and Ireland. The choir’s Musical Director is Mr Michael Boswell.

The museum performance is a great opportunity to hear the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Madrigals in a wonderful setting. The Courtyard Café is located just off historic Turlough Park House, in the former stable block and service wing.

The Mayo International Choral Festival takes place each year at the end of May and welcomes choirs from all over the world to Mayo to take part in performances and events across the county. All events are open to a public audience.

The eighth annual festival takes place from May 22 to 26, 2019 and will see 34 choirs taking part. The performance at NMI – Country Life is a free event with no booking required.
