Children’s theatre this election day at Roscommon Arts Centre

With the upcoming General Election taking place on February 26, Roscommon Arts Centre has just the thing to entertain any little ones who may find themselves with a day off school that Friday! For those who have school as normal that day, never fear - you and your classmates are welcome to come along too!

Barnstorm Theatre Company presents Monday’s Child by Brendan Murray at Roscommon Arts Centre on Friday, February 26 at 10am. Monday’s Child tells the simple poetic story of the unique bond between a little girl and an old woman suffering memory loss. Together, in a dream-like garden, they sing and dance and dress up, as they joyously explore a treasure trove of memory boxes.

This sensitive, imaginative yet funny play explores how we collect memories, how these shape who we are, and how they help us to meet the challenges of growing old.

While children fully engage with the characters and adore a succession of colourful surprises, the play also resonates strongly with adults, making this an ideal family show. This show is perfect for school groups and families and is suitable for ages 4–7.
