Athlone Chamber seeks business input on Athlone boundary review

The Environment, Community and Local Government Minister Alan Kelly’s review of the Athlone boundary between Westmeath and Roscommon is currently underway.

The submission period is coming to a close on Wednesday, January 27, and the Chamber is in the closing stages of preparing its submission. The Chamber has requested its members and other business owners and/or managers to contact it with their views on the matter.

The key areas for consideration are: the financial impact, positive or negative, of the proposed change and the likely benefits and costs or otherwise; whether businesses are likely to be impacted by any issues that may arise and how these may be mitigated; and the views of businesses on the current boundary arrangements and whether they feel a change is needed.
