All eyes west with Beyond the Brooklyn Sky

Red Kettle Theatre Company make their debut at Roscommon Arts Centre next Tuesday and Wednesday November 26 and 27 with a brand new production Beyond the Brooklyn Sky, written by Michael Hilliard Mulcahy and directed by Peter Sheridan.

It’s 1988 and all eyes are on the western skies. Wide-eyed, wild yet innocent, they dream big dreams, work hard, get rich, and someday maybe they’ll come back home again. They grew up together, dreamed together, and emigrated together in the late 80s. America didn’t quite fulfil their dreams and they returned home, chastened but wiser. Things happened between them out foreign, things of the heart and things of the purse, things that were never resolved.

And now they gather to welcome home Jack for what should be a celebration. But the ordinary can be extraordinary and a lot needs to be resolved in one short night. Can Greg and Mags rekindle their childhood love? Can Brendy and Josie stop their marriage from splitting apart? Will Jamesie find the truth about his son Jimmy lost on the streets of Brooklyn? The past is a powder keg waiting to explode... the only question is who will strike the first match. Book your ticket now and be there to watch as the drama unfolds!

Tickets are €18/€16 and are available from Roscommon Arts Centre’s box office on (090 ) 6625824 or online at www.roscommonartscentre.ie .
