IFC final replay

St Malachy’s 1-13

Caulry 0-13

For the second year running Caulry have fallen at the final hurdle. Last year CFCW pipped them in the intermediate decider. This time around it was St Malachy’s who proved too strong for the men from Mount Temple who must wait at least another year before they join the senior ranks.

While only a goal separated the sides at the finish, The Saints led by 11 points at one stage of the second half. Amazingly Peter O’Leary’s side failed to raise a flag for the final 26 minutes and should have been more comfortable winners than the final score-line suggests.

Malachy’s can look forward to a quick return to the senior ranks while many of the side also have the senior hurling final to look forward to this weekend.
