Hurling championship takes centre stage

Hurling takes the spotlight this weekend with two quarter-finals and the relegation playoff down for decision. First up is the relegation final between Delvin and Crookedwood which throws in at 6.30pm in Cusack Park on Saturday. Both teams lost their three group games and there won’t be much between them on Saturday. The Wood may just about have enough to shade it but will need to improve their scoring return having managed just nine points in each of their last two outings.

On Sunday Cusack Park plays host to the two quarter-finals. The action gets underway at 5pm when St Oliver Plunkett’s should have too much firepower for Castlepollard. In the second game the in-form Castletown Geoghegan will be expected to advance at the expense of Raharney.
