Get in shape and change a life

The Christmas party season has only just begun, and already we’re planning ways and means to get in shape next year.

If you’re one of the thousands of people out there gearing up for a new challange in 2012 check out Change Your Life bootcamp. A new venture that can see you get healthy while raising money for a good cause.

Change Your Life bootcamp will begin on Monday January 16 in Athlone Towncentre from 7.30pm - 8.30pm. The six week bootcamp will be run in aid of Self Help Africa, a charity that works to eradicate hunger and poverty in the poorest region in the world - sub-Saharan Africa.

This is no ordinary bootcamp - Ronan Scully of RTE’s Operation Transformation is an ambassador for the bootcamp, and he will take part in one of the sessions to help maintain motivation and give his advice to participants.

Everyone taking part will receive a bootcamp goody-bag which includes information on Self Help Africa, a t-shirt, sponsored goodies, recommended foodplans, water, and wristbands. The six week bootcamp will finish with a fun-filled prize-giving night, with some fabulous prizes up for grabs for the person who raises the largest amount of money for Self Help Africa, and for the person who loses the most weight!

You will also be given expert advice and a detailed fitness plan by the two local fitness experts Nichola Ryan (a former Westmeath Rose ) and Alison Hogan, who are really looking forward to pushing you to reach your potential for six weeks, and help you achieve fantastic results.

Bootcamp organisers are currently recruiting a First Lieutenant to lead the troops. If you think you would be a good leader, and would like to apply, please go to www.facebook.com/BootcampAthlone and tell us why you would be good at changing your life and helping to save another. The First Lieutenant will waive the sign-up fee, but you must be prepared to be a true leader. You will be absolutely determined to change your lifestyle, to lose weight, and regain confidence. If you have some experience with the media this will also be helpful, but not essential.

If you and your friends are interested in taking part in this fun and exciting bootcamp, please contact Nichola Ryan on (087 ) 9722110, Alison Hogan on (086 ) 0603986, or Fiona Kelly at [email protected] for sponsorship cards or any other details. There are limited places available so get in touch today to secure your place before the January rush!
