The Olive Whelan School of Arts and Drama is now very well established in providing modules in arts-in-education, arts-in-health, and arts-in-therapy.
It is possible to cater for all populations through the creative arts. The sessions and classes are carefully planned and creative.
At the beginning of each session/class, time is spent on voice production and effective speaking. This in turn adds to the students’ increased vocabulary and improved use of descriptive language. This aspect of expressive arts is of particular importance to children experiencing dyslexia. All of this new creativity and opportunities for expressing oneself transfers very well across all other subjects. All participating students gain knowledge for life as good communication is of paramount importance. The tutors at the Olive Whelan Arts Village are all highly qualified, well motivated, and enthusiastic in their chosen subject of art, music, drama, photography, and writing. They can provide a varied and imaginative programme of learning for all ages.
The Arts Village offers a child friendly, child centred, approach.
The Arts Village summer camp is planned for July. The weekly camp will cost just €55 per week; this offer is valid until May 1 and is booked on a first come first served basis.
