Roscommon Sports Partnership and the Irish Sports Council have linked up with RTE’s Operation Transformation to transform the masses - by holding a ‘National Walk Day’.
Operation Transformation, in partnership with the Irish Heart Foundation, the Irish Sports Council, and local sports partnerships, will host a number of walks around Ireland. The aim of the walks is to raise awareness of healthy and active living while encouraging more people to get more active more often. Roscommon Sports Partnership has chosen the scenic Mote Park route. The walk will take place this Saturday January 15. Walking leaders and participants will meet at 2pm at the Girl Guides Centre in Mote Park and set off on the 5km route.
All ages and abilities are welcome, and families are particularly encouraged to get involved. Why not make a start today, and remember no matter what age you are, it is never too late to start exercising. Please dress appropriately.
