Christmas clubs - a long tradition

It is proven that Christmas clubs become more popular during times of recession. In fact, Christmas clubs were born out of the Great Depression in America. They take the pressure off people in the run up to Christmas and reduce the financial strain as the big day approaches. With Ireland entering its first recession in 25 years, it is likely Christmas clubs will increase in popularity in these tough economic times.

Whelehans Pharmacy in Mullingar continues this tradition with their very popular Christmas club. Whelehans have operated a Christmas club for many years but now their club is better than ever. When you join the Christmas club, you will receive a great free gift. When you save €100 in the club you will receive a €10 gift voucher, and when you save €150 you will receive a €20 voucher.

According to Eamonn from Whelehans; “You can pick your gifts now and we will leave them aside for you until you need them at Christmas. You can pay off at your own pace in the run up to Christmas. You will also be entered into a draw for a great hamper.”

Whelehans Christmas club is now open. Call into store or dial (044 ) 9348337 for more details.
