Starting on Thursday October 1 the Castle Inn, Athlone will be hosting open mic nights for all aspiring musicians and bands.
The open mic nights will be held every Thursday from 8.30pm to close. To enter simply call into the pub and sign up or book a spot on Facebook or call (087 ) 2271996. “We’re looking for people to prepare three songs for the night. We hope to have ten to 12 performances a night. All entrants need to do is bring themselves and whatever musical instruments they need, we’ve all the equipment here,” explained Phil Byrne, owner of the Castle Inn.
“I’d love to see some singer/songwriters, rock bands, trad musicians, whoever. We want to give them a chance to sing live and show off their talent, whether it’s playing their own songs or covering classics,” he added.
