Get set for an evening of ‘folk ‘n’ roll’

A Band Called Wanda are an enigmatic, energetic four-piece band from the west of Ireland.

Influenced mainly by the likes of classic songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, The Beatles, Leonard Cohen and The Band, Wanda began creating their own blend of folk 'n' roll when they formed in the infant months of 2004. Their first ever show left a capacity audience screaming for more at An Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe.

Having created a sound that is instantly recognisable, A Band Called Wanda manage to maintain a distinct originality throughout their vast array of songs. From folky cowboy songs to angst-driven rock anthems, A Band Called Wanda remain focused on writing honestly while using their collective musical training to expand their musical horizons.

Audiences can expect to be entertained and inspired by the band’s positive energy, and as long as you have a beating heart they'll get your feet moving and your face smiling.

A Band Called Wanda play The Yukon Bar, Mullingar this Thursday, September 3.
