Founded 500 years ago in Punjab, North India, the Sikh religion, under the guidance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, promotes a spiritual revolution with the belief in "Ek Onkar," signifying the belief in one supreme reality or God.

"Sikh" translates to learner or seeker of truth, with over 26 million adherents worldwide. Sikhs advocate for social justice, humanitarian service, and tolerance towards other faiths. They follow the teachings of the Gurus, which are combined in the Gurugranth Sahib and placed in every Gurudwara Sahib.

Their place of worship, the Gurudwara Sahib, meaning "home of the Guru," welcomes everyone regardless of their religious background.

Each Sunday, in Athlone's Blyry Industrial Estate, there's a Gurudwara Sahib to which all are invited and served with vegetarian meals and tea.
