Winter League continues to gather momentum on fairways of Moate Golf Club

As the Winter League competition continues to gather momentum at Moate Golf Club, Team 8 Mike Hiney’s lead has been reduced to just one point with Team 2 JJ Guinan on 556 points closing the gap significantly.

Team 3 Declan Murphy zoom up 11 slots to take 13th with Team 15 Willie Ganly going in reverse dropping seven places to 23rd of the 31 teams. A special word of thanks this week to sponsor Ollie Seery who has said there will be prizes for second, third and fourth in this year competition, as well as the club sponsored first prize of course which will be confirmed next week.

Future Competitions

The New Year 13 hole club comp runs until Sunday, January 7, and will be played over holes 1-13 as we need to give a rest to some of our closing holes.

Course Corner

With the cold and wet conditions continuing it is more important than ever to take care of the course.

Please continue to take your sand bags for repairing divots and a pitch mark repairer for the greens. Also, it would be great if you can sprinkle the available sand and seed on the temporary tee boxes.

Finally, please remove your footprints from the bunkers which remain fully operational thanks to the great work by the club's greenkeeping team.
