Irish hairdressing icon Maeve O’Healy-Harte appointed OMC President for Europe

Newly appointed OMC President for the Western European Zone (fifteen countries ), Maeve O’Healy-Harte has been involved with OMC, the world’s biggest hair and beauty organisation with over 60 member countries, since 1999. In 2008 she was awarded a Gold OMC medal of appreciation from them in Chicago, USA.

In her new role as President of OMC (WEZ ), Maeve is committed to promoting competitions and maintaining their high standards. She says, “I am a person of integrity and fairness and I have great loyalty to OMC.”

With over 30 years experience in the hairdressing industry, Maeve is also a former President of the Irish Hairdressing Federation and has a number of top accolades to her name, including Irish Hall of Fame award, Irish Hairdresser of the Year, Champion of All Irish Hairdressing Champions 1999-2009, and International Creative Champion 2000-2003.

As an educator within the hairdressing industry, Maeve holds a BA in Training and Education from NUI and a Certificate in World Class Standards. She has also received a number of awards from City and Guilds, including the Licentiateship, awarded in London and the Silver Medal Excellence Award for outstanding achievements in hairdressing.

Maeve has been nothing but inspiring throughout her career and as MD of MOHH Publications, which includes Irish Hairdresser International Magazine and the new Hairdressing Career and Training Book, Maeve is determined to help move the OMC forward through this media channel.

Maeve is also MD of MOHH salons since 1997 and the recently opened MOHH Hairdressing Academy in Athlone, where she lives with her husband Michael.
