Under 13 League

Southern Gaels 3-7 St Oliver Plunkett’s 1-5

Southern Gaels played a young very skilful St Oliver Plunkett’s in Round 7 of the Under13 League in Páirc Chiaráin last Sunday.

Gaels got off to a quick start with points by Adam O’Brien, Aodhán Fallon and Sam Meegan. Plunketts came back into the game with two well taken points but couldn’t convert possession into additional scores. Two goals by Nathan Quigley before half time gave the Gaels a nine point lead at the break.

In the second half Plunketts took their chances scoring 1-3 but the Gaels replied with a goal by James Cahill and points by Aodhán Fallon and Adam O’Brien to run out winners by six points. It was a brilliant team effort with all nineteen players contributing to the victory. Thanks to the parents and to St Oliver Plunkett’s for travelling to Athlone.
