The annually hosted Castledaly GAA GOAL Mile charity fundraising initiative, which took place on St Stephen's Day, proved a success with community members making donations to ease suffering of those globally struggling with hunger, disease and natural disasters.

Speaking following the event, Dermot Walshe, noted the community spirit very much prevalent during the fundraising initiative.

"Another year and yet another brilliantly supported annual GOAL Mile fundraising event took place at Castledaly GAA grounds on St Stephens Day with a steady stream of generous souls walking their 'Mile with a Smile' around the club's walking track and donations made towards such a worthy cause," Mr Walshe stated.
