As the Christmas season fast approaches and people are winding down and settling in for winter, the crew at Crossfit Croí in Athlone are implementing plans and setting goals for what is shaping up to be a busy 2023, as the local business prepares to celebrate its sixth anniversary.

Crossfit Croí has evolved from an idea to a perennially busy crossfit box, fitness and wellness centre. Crossfit Croí caters for clients of all ages and abilities and have a dedicated team of health and fitness instructors on hand who work collectively to ensure the goals of all their members are achieved.

So, if it is relaxation and yoga, an Indian head massage, some nutritional, focused one-on-one fitness classes from the Crossfit Croí personal trainers, group classes and sports massage for recovery or even mobility and flexibility classes you require, Crossfit Croí can take care of it all!

Crossfit Croí was established in 2016 by local sisters Ursula and Patrice Kenny with the idea of creating a community of like-minded people who support and encourage each other throughout every class and workout and that success and progress are more easily achieved with full support from a group of people with a common goal.

Ursula and Patrice are firm believers in constant learning and upskilling, so in addition to their personal training and crossfit qualifications, they are completing a higher certificate in strength and conditioning from Setanta College Ireland, widely recognised as the most prestigious college for strength and conditioning, not only in Ireland, but worldwide.

Crossfit Croí has in the past two years added strength and conditioning for teams to its timetable and has had wonderful success with local GAA clubs. Clann na Gael senior ladies team have been availing of strength and conditioning training at Crossfit Croí for the past two years and this year won back-to-back county club championships at senior level.

Success was similarly achieved by the Tubberclair intermediate football team who also availed of strength and conditioning for the earlier part of their season.

The girls have very big goals and plans ahead and the future looks bright for all the team at Crossfit Croí. Inside the door of the gym is the quote, ‘fitness is a journey, not a destination.’

The team at Crossfit Croí, from Ursula, Patrice, yoga instructors and therapists, along with Anita Sheerin PT, specialising in Irish dancers strength and flexibility, as well as personal training for all ages, are working to help you take that first step to taking care of your mind, body and soul at Crossfit Croí.
