Oates Auctioneers have enjoyed continued success in recent months selling properties via their online auction platform throughout the lockdown period.

The end of last year proved extremely busy with demand outstripping supply and Oates Auctioneers are expecting a very busy start to 2021. In partnership with IAM Sold Property Auctions, Oates have been successfully selling a number of properties through both their Athlone and Roscommon Town offices.

One recent sale in late 2020, was a large mixed use building on 37 Church Street. Situated in the heart of Athlone town centre, the property offered retail space on the ground floor plus extensive living accommodation on the second and third floors. The property offered excellent potential for the development of substantial retail space and was popular with local investors before selling for €297,500 via the online auction platform.

Another property which is new to the market in 2021 is a property on 31 Mardyke Street, offered at bids over €110,000 via the online auction. This prime investment property is suitable for a variety of uses including retail, office space, residential or mix-use. Located in a much sought after location adjacent to Athlone town centre and Golden Island shopping centre, the property is in need of refurbishment and offers purchasers a blank canvas for a variety of uses. The property is due to be offered by online auction on February 11 unless sold prior to this date.

Oates Auctioneers and IAM Sold are now taking entries for their upcoming auctions on February 11 and March 4 and will have a total of 11 auction dates throughout the year.

"Using the online auctions we are in a unique position to be able handle some of the current challenges facing the industry. Our online platform allows buyers to bid for the comfort of their own home, as well as allowing contracts to be exchanged online making the transaction as easy as possible. Our properties are performing well currently with interest coming locally and also elsewhere in Ireland and the UK through the additional auction marketing," Brendan Naughton of Oates Auctioneers, commented.

For those thinking of selling, the auction team are now taking entries into the February 11 and March 4 auction dates and indeed the following auction on April 8.

The auction team are encouraging property owners to make contact with them to arrange an initial valuation on (090 ) 647 7500 for the Athlone office or (090 ) 662 7878 for the Roscommon Town office with interested parties advised to visit www.oates.ie and click on the auction tab to access auction properties.
