DBC Clinic Athlone celebrates successful first year in business

Celebrating a successful first year of business in Athlone, DBC Chartered Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine Clinic continues to be the leading purveyor of exercise based rehabilitation programmes based on a foundation of strong scientific support and clinical reasoning.

DBC Clinic was founded in 2001 by Athlone native, Liam Heavin, whose vast expertise and wealth of experience within the chartered physiotherapist spectrum, has benefited the ever growing client base, DBC Clinic commenced business from its Ashleaf base, before opening specialist practices in UCD and Naas. Liam is one of Ireland’s leading spinal rehabilitation specialist physiotherapists.

With the business goal to expand the reach and access to specialist services in multi-purpose state of the art clinics, the opening of the Athlone practice at Arcadia Retail Park has allowed the team at DBC Clinic to provide enhanced care to clients from its central base.

Renowned as a centre of excellence, particularly in the provision of specialist back and neck rehabilitation, the opening of the Athlone practice, under the expert guidance of General Manager, Emma Guihen, further enhances the clinic’s reputation as a specialist treatment provider with proven success, as consultants continue to refer clients with relevant medical issues to the rehabilitation facility where the team at DBC Clinics utilise specific pain management programmes.

Chartered Physiotherapist Tara Flanagan has a special interest in adolescent sports injuries, growth and development disorders and clinical pilates. She also works with a number of local teams including the Marist College senior GAA team and Athlone Town AFC’s League of Ireland team.

DBC Clinics are at the forefront of medical science using modern methodology to address and assess physical injuries and providing expert and beneficial care to clients in a professional environment. The purpose build 2,500ft2 Athlone clinic has been the newest addition to this network

DBC also focuses on a number of additional specialist services to include specialised cervical/lumbar assessments, deep dry needling and deep tissue massage, ergonomics advice and shockwave therapy for tendon and soft tissue issues.

DBC Athlone is open from 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 2pm on Saturday.
