Joe McDonagh Cup fixtures announced

The fixtures for the inaugural Joe McDonagh Cup have been announced.

It promises to be an interesting group for Michael Ryan’s Westmeath outfit, who will be keen to make an impact in the competition.

An away match at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise, against Laois is Westmeath’s first game in the tournament on May 5.

The following week Westmeath host Meath before travelling to Austin Stack Park in Tralee for a round three encounter.

Westmeath collide with Antrim at TEG Cusack Park on Saturday, June 2, before the last group tussle with Carlow on June 9.

Whoever finishes in sixth position faces the Christy Ring Cup winner on Saturday, June 30, in a promotion/relegation play-off.

The Joe McDonagh Cup final is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 1, at Croke Park.
