Eighth annual Connemara Cycle for Aware

The eighth annual Connemara Cycle for Aware takes place on May 16 and for the first time is the main event in an exciting new initiative - the Connemara Cycle 4 Light Festival - between Delphi Adventure Resort and Aware. The festival runs from Friday to Sunday May 15-17.

There are two routes to choose from: a 65km route and a 125km route, with both starting and finishing in Delphi. Whichever route you choose, the cycle will bring you through the magnificent and very special landscape that makes Connemara so unique.

Cyclists of all abilities can get involved and funds raised will go to Aware’s support, education, and information services. The organisation marks its 30th anniversary this year and continues to work hard to support people through depression, and promote mental health and wellbeing.

Amo Sayed, head of business development and fundraising with Aware, says that the event is a very special one in Aware’s annual calendar: “The event was started by a small group of local volunteers eight years ago and in that time, €100,000 has been raised for Aware’s services. We are delighted to partner with Delphi Adventure Resort this year and I know that this will be a brilliant weekend for all who take part. It’s an ideal outing for families or groups of friends – what better way to get your exercise than on two wheels with the spectacular sights of Connemara all around you.”
