Westmeath cruised to a convincing 2-16 to 1-7 Leinster Minor Football Championship win over Wicklow at Aughrim on Wednesday evening. The comprehensive victory over Wicklow now means Westmeath will face Offaly in a provincial quarter final in Tullamore on Saturday May 17. Backed by a strong wind in the first half Westmeath went in 1-9 to 0-1 ahead at the interval and Tom Carr’s team were never seriously troubled after the restart.
