‘Get Up The Yard’ - Heading for the home straight

Curraghmaore National School’s fundraiser ‘Get Up The Yard’ is gathering momentum and heading for the home straight. The mascots Hare (Hairy ) and Tortoise (Torty ) have been feeling the cold in the yard over the last few weeks, but they are confident they will make it to the finish line on time.

Hairy, the faster one, is covering a lot of ground but seems to stop for a rest a little too often. Torty is a more steady chap, taking his time and progressing at his own pace, selling lots of cards. Working as a team with the help of students, teachers, and parents they hope to reach their goal to raise much-needed funds for school activities.

‘Get Up The yard’ is a raffle with a twist. When you buy an inch for €2 or three inches for €5 (full card €20 ), you enter a draw for €1,000 in prizes. Each card is equivalent to one foot, which helps Hairy and Torty move up the yard. The draw takes place on Friday January 29 at 1.30pm in the school.

If you would like to support the raffle, or if you are a past pupil or family member of a past pupil and would like to take part, cards can be purchased by phone at (044 ) 9342549. Remember every €2 counts, and every student benefits for the fundraising.

Curraghmaore National School Mullingar Parents Association would like to thank their sponsors, the staff, parents, and you, the public, for your support so far.

With only days to go, just €2 will get you on the starting blocks to be a prize winner in the raffle. Who will win the race? Watch this space.
