Teach In is an organisation that finds long-term jobs in England and Wales for teachers wishing to move from Ireland.
The organisation understands that deciding to take a new job in England is a big step and you will have many questions. For this reason, Teach In are touring Ireland at the end of November to meet teachers who are either currently training or have finished their courses who might consider making the move across the water.
They will tell you all about what to expect and answer any questions you may have. See the advertisement in the business section of this paper.
The events will cover the following topics:
The training you will receive to ensure you are prepared for the difference in curriculum and expectations of British schools.
The support specific schools can give specifically to Irish teachers who are moving.
How Teach In can support you to build a network of others in the same boat.
The different areas of England and Wales.
Setting up interviews for those who want to move.
Teach In will be in Athlone on Thursday November 24 at 12.30pm; Sligo on Thursday November 24 at 7pm; Galway on Friday November 25 at 12.30pm; Limerick on Friday November 25 at 7pm; Cork on Saturday November 26 at 12.30pm; and Dublin on Sunday November 27 at 12.30pm.
The sessions will be informal with some short presentations, followed by Q&A and discussion.
If you are interested in attending one of these sessions, email [email protected] including your name, phone number, email address, which session you would like to attend, and how many teacher friends you would like to bring with you.
