The WhistleBlast Quartet commenced their music workshops in Breaffy National School this week and they will host a concert in Breaffy House Hotel tonight (January 9 ) at 6pm.
The quartet, who are funded by Mayo County Council and the Arts Council, work alongside teachers, primary and secondary schools, in providing music composition workshops and free public recitals in towns and rural communities.
Music at the concert will include music from medieval dances to Debussy’s piano music; Handel’s Water Music; and the theme from The Simpsons. The children of Breaffy National School will perform a piece composed with the quartet at the end of this recital. For more information visit www.whistleblastquartet.com
