New look for Kavanagh’s SuperValu Castlebar

Kavanagh’s SuperValu Castlebar has announced the opening of its newly revamped 15,000sq ft store. The store opens following a substantial investment of €500,000, helping to sustain employment of 80 staff members from the local community.

Speaking about the newly revamped store, owner, Noel Kavanagh said: “The new store has been carefully planned to further meet the needs of the local community and to provide excellent service, range, and quality in a modern, bright, environment in the heart of the town. We believe in local and our investment symbolises our commitment to the local area. We are confident that the store will excel through our excellent value offer, our improved range of fresh food, and giving our customers a better shopping experience.”

He continued: “Our new store has introduced and improved upon a number of services, without compromising our commitment to outstanding value. We have significantly increased the fresh food area and made exciting new additions to our convenience and food to go offering, our fresh fish range, and our extensive butcher counter offering 100 per cent Irish meat and poultry. The off-licence also offers a wide range of world wines, beers, and spirits at keen prices.”

Commenting on the store opening, Martin Kelleher, managing director, SuperValu, said: “Kavanagh’s SuperValu is a real demonstration of SuperValu’s long-standing commitment to local communities. This store has been serving the people of Castlebar since 1990. It is a tremendous achievement to see this store expanding as it continues to provide its shoppers with that unique shopping experience in a convenient location. The local retailers we partner with play an important economic and social role in creating and maintaining sustainable communities across Ireland, providing jobs, and supporting local initiatives and sponsorships.”

He added: “SuperValu retailers are driven by the fact that they own their own stores and live and work in the communities they serve, and as such are acutely aware of and responsive to local needs and wants. Kavanagh’s SuperValu Castlebar is a prime example of this, providing local jobs, supporting local suppliers, and providing an excellent range and value for money to consumers.”
