Mayo Peace Park

A national day of commemoration ceremony, to honour those Irishmen and Irishwomen who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations, will be held at the Mayo Peace Park, in Castlebar, on Sunday July 14.

The event organised by Mayo County Council in association with The Mayo Peace Park is one of a number of ceremonies that will take place in towns and Cities around the Country including a national event in Dublin.

Attending the Mayo ceremony will be local public representatives, members of the defence forces, religious leaders, community representatives as well as various next-of-kin of those who served and died in past wars or on UN service and a wide cross-section of the community including ex-servicemen's organisations. This is a public event and the general public are encouraged to attend.

This public ceremony will take place in The Mayo Peace Park at 1pm on Sunday July 14. Those persons planning to attend should arrive no later than 12.30pm.
