Man disqualified from driving for six months

A Polish man who was detected drink driving was convicted, fined, and disqualified at this week’s sitting of Castlebar District Court.

On February 12 2012, Garda John Flanagan, who was conducting a checkpoint, stopped Mariusz Prazmowski 12 Cavendish Lane, Castlebar.

The defendant failed a roadside breath test. A breath sample provided gave a reading of 28mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. A drink driving fixed penalty notice was issued, however it was not paid.

Prazmowski told the court that he was not drinking that day but had drunk the day before.

Judge Mary Devins convicted and fined him €200 and disqualified him from driving for six months.
