Woman bombarded with texts from ex-partner

An ex-partner of a women who bombarded her with calls and texts was before Ballina District Court this week on a harassment/stalking charge.

The court heard that Kevin Dodson, 115 Crann Nua, Portarlington, Laois, had from November 21 2008 to September 7 2009, sent up to 20 texts a day and rung up to 50 times a day.

Dodson’s ex got in touch with gardaí when this contact started and gardaí downloaded information from her phone.

Solicitor for Dodson Peter Loftus said that some of the texts were “vulgar and inappropriate”; however, the majority of texts were about the defendant not having access to his son.

Judge Mary Devins adjourned the matter for one year for sentencing to July 26 2011.
