Ninety-five new jobs for Galway

There was good news on the jobs front for Galway this week with the announcement of 95 new jobs in two companies due to open premises in the city centre in the coming weeks.

Irish-owned lifestyle retailer Born will open a store at the new Newtownsmith shopping development in April, and the company plans to recruit 60 full time and part time staff for the store, including a management team. CVs can be e-mailed to [email protected]

The company stocks a range of cutting edge designer brands including Mina, Prophecy, Lipsy, and Rare for women, and Franklin and Marshall, Diesel, Gibson suits, Ripstop, Quicksilver, Billabong, and Gio Gio for men, along with gadgets, shoes, sunglasses, and giftware.

April will also see the opening of a new Burger King outlet in the Eyre Square Centre, bringing 35 jobs into the city. The fast food chain in famous for its Whopper, as well as the bacon double cheeseburger and chicken royale. The 130-seat outlet will be the first Burger King branch for Galway.
