The controversial cuts to education in Budget 09 have been the source of much public anger and a public meeting on this contentious issue will take place in Galway city next week.
The Galway branch of the Socialist Party will hold the meeting on Tuesday December 9 in the Fostercourt Hotel at 8pm.
There will be speakers from some of the local schools and a representative of one of the teachers unions, as well as a speaker from the Socialist Party, which is conducting a campaign against the cuts in education and public services in general.
